TekNotes - Auto Privacy Policy

TekNotes - Auto is developed by AzVa Enterprises LLC as a local-first Android application for automotive technicians to save and retrieve their own repair notes, vehicle information, specifications, measurements, photos, and related reference information.

Information stored on the device

TekNotes - Auto stores information you enter directly on your device, including notes, vehicle information, optional vehicle identification numbers (VINs), diagnostic and repair information, tags, favorites, and photo attachments. TekNotes - Auto does not require a user account and does not provide cloud synchronization in version 1.0.

VIN decoding

A VIN is optional. When you choose to decode a VIN, TekNotes - Auto sends that VIN over the internet to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Product Information Catalog (vPIC) service so vehicle information can be returned. TekNotes - Auto does not send your notes, photos, or other locally stored repair information to NHTSA.

Camera access

Camera access is used when you choose to scan a VIN or capture a photo attachment. VIN barcode and printed-text recognition are processed on the device.

Google Play purchases

TekNotes - Auto Pro is offered as an optional one-time purchase through Google Play. Google Play processes the transaction. TekNotes - Auto receives purchase-entitlement information needed to unlock Pro features and does not receive or process your payment-card number. Google's own privacy practices apply to Google Play transactions.

Advertising and analytics

TekNotes - Auto version 1.0 does not contain advertising and does not include a third-party analytics service.

Backup, restore, and data export

TekNotes - Auto Pro can create a local backup file at a location you select. A full backup can contain notes, vehicle and VIN information, tags, favorites, and managed photo attachments.

When you choose Restore, TekNotes - Auto reads the backup file you select and merges its contents into the local TekNotes - Auto database on that device.

TekNotes - Auto Pro can also export readable JSON containing note, vehicle, VIN, tag, and attachment-reference data. Backup, restore, and export files are handled locally through Android's document picker and are not automatically uploaded to AzVa Enterprises LLC.

Data deletion

You can delete notes and managed photo attachments from within TekNotes - Auto. TekNotes - Auto does not maintain a cloud user account or cloud copy of your note database. Uninstalling TekNotes - Auto removes its remaining local application data from the device, subject to normal Android device behavior.

Security

TekNotes - Auto is designed as a local-first application. Internet access is used for optional NHTSA VIN decoding and Google Play Billing. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children

TekNotes - Auto is a professional automotive utility and is not designed or directed specifically to children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if TekNotes - Auto changes how it handles data or adds new services. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
