AZVA ENTERPRISES LLC
Vehtrix Privacy Policy
Effective September 21, 2026
This policy describes how AzVa Enterprises LLC handles information in Vehtrix, our Android vehicle diagnostics app (package com.azvaenterprises.vehtrix). It reflects the features available in version 0.1.20. Our website privacy policy separately covers this website.
Your vehicle history and recordings stay on your device unless you export or share them. VIN decoding sends the VIN to NHTSA. Optional app health reports send limited device and performance information to our reporting service. Vehtrix does not require an account, contain advertising, or sell your personal information.
Vehicle data and local storage
Vehtrix accesses information from the vehicle through the diagnostic adapter you connect. Depending on the vehicle and operation, this can include the vehicle identification number (VIN), vehicle details, module information, trouble codes, readiness and monitor results, freeze-frame data, and live sensor readings. The app also processes adapter identifiers to establish connections and stores settings, vehicle history, diagnostic reports, and recordings in its private storage on your device. We use this information to provide the diagnostic, history, playback, and export features you use. Vehtrix does not automatically upload vehicle history or recordings to AzVa.
VIN decoding with NHTSA
When you use the NHTSA VIN decoding feature, Vehtrix sends the VIN over HTTPS to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Product Information Catalog (vPIC) service to retrieve details such as year, make, model, and engine. NHTSA also receives the network information needed to answer the request, including your IP address. This request does not include your recordings, trouble codes, or other diagnostic readings. Returned vehicle details may be saved in local history and recordings. NHTSA handles requests under its own privacy policy. VIN decoding is separate from the optional app health reporting setting.
Bluetooth and device permissions
Bluetooth and Nearby devices permissions allow Vehtrix to find and communicate with supported diagnostic adapters. On Android 11 and earlier, Android may require location permission for Bluetooth discovery; Vehtrix uses that permission for adapter discovery, not to obtain GPS coordinates or track your location. Internet access supports VIN decoding and diagnostics uploads. Exporting uses Android's document picker so you can choose the destination.
Optional app health reports
Vehtrix keeps a small local diagnostic queue to help investigate app problems. Automatic uploads are off by default. You can enable automatic reports in Settings or explicitly choose Send diagnostics. Reports help us diagnose crashes, connection failures, slow or stalled data streams, and responsiveness problems.
Reports include app version, Android version, device model, event times and types, random event and per-launch session identifiers, connection outcomes, counts of selected parameters and successful or failed samples, stream rates and durations, and hashed crash fingerprints. These identifiers are not persistent installation identifiers.
Health reports do not include VINs, vehicle readings, trouble codes, Bluetooth names or addresses, GPS location, raw vehicle session logs, exception messages, or full stack traces. This exclusion applies to health reports; it does not apply to the separate VIN decoding request or files you choose to export or send to support.
Reporting providers and network information
Optional reports travel over HTTPS to our service hosted by Vercel and are stored in a private Supabase database. These providers process information to host, secure, and operate the service for us. Our endpoint necessarily receives your IP address; before storing a rate-limit identifier in the reporting database, it converts the address into a keyed hash that changes daily. That identifier is used to limit abuse. Hosting providers may also process IP addresses, request times, and technical logs under their own retention practices. See Vercel's privacy policy and Supabase's privacy policy.
Recordings and exports
CSV recordings can include the VIN, available year/make/model/trim/engine/fuel details, adapter information, timestamps, ECU and PID identifiers, readings, units, raw values, and missing-response information. When you export a recording, Android saves a copy to the location or document provider you choose. Choosing a cloud provider can upload that copy to that provider under its privacy terms. Exported files are not automatically sent to AzVa. Review files before sharing them, particularly if they concern someone else's vehicle.
Purchases and support
Google Play handles purchases of the paid app under Google's privacy policy. Vehtrix does not receive your payment-card number. Google may provide transaction and order information to us through its developer tools for purchase administration, refunds, or support. The current app does not include in-app purchases or subscriptions.
If you email us, we receive your email address and any message, attachments, recordings, or other information you choose to send. We use it to respond and investigate your request. Do not send sensitive information that is unnecessary for support.
Retention and deletion
Vehicle history, settings, and recordings remain on your device until removed. Delete individual recordings from the Recordings screen. To remove all private app data, use Android's Clear storage option or uninstall Vehtrix. Android automatic app backup is disabled. Copies you exported or shared remain at their destinations and must be deleted separately.
The local health queue is limited to 80 events; events older than seven days are discarded when loading or preparing reports. Turning automatic reporting off clears the existing queue and stops automatic uploads, although new local events can still be recorded for a later explicit Send diagnostics action. Reports already received by our reporting database are removed by an hourly cleanup once they are older than 30 days. Rate-limit records are removed after two days by that cleanup. Turning reporting off does not recall reports already sent.
Support correspondence and purchase administration records are retained for as long as needed to resolve the request, maintain necessary business records, or meet legal obligations. You may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us. We may need information to verify and locate the relevant record; because health reports lack a user account or persistent installation identifier, we may be unable to identify a particular person's reports. Applicable legal retention requirements may limit deletion. NHTSA, Google, and providers you select manage their own records under their policies.
Sharing, security, and your choices
We do not sell personal information or use Vehtrix data for advertising. We share information with service providers as described above, when you direct us to, or when necessary to comply with law, protect rights and security, or transfer the business with appropriate notice and protections. Information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States.
We use Android's app storage protections, HTTPS for the app's network requests, and restricted access to the reporting database. No storage or transmission system is completely secure. You control optional reporting, exports, and Android permissions; denying a permission may prevent the associated feature from working. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information, withdraw consent, object to processing, or contact a privacy regulator. Contact us to exercise applicable rights.
Children
Vehtrix is an automotive diagnostic utility intended for technicians and vehicle owners, not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
Policy updates and contact
We will update this policy and its effective date when our data practices change. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate, and we will obtain consent where required before introducing new optional data uses.
